About Uganda eSIM coverage

Coverage & Networks

4G/LTE and 5G via MTN Uganda and Airtel Uganda — Good in Kampala, Entebbe and main towns. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and the remote interiors of Queen Elizabeth Park have limited signal.

How much data do I need?

1–2 GB covers a week. Kampala city navigation and booking confirmations are the main data uses.

Tip for Uganda

Bwindi mountain gorilla permits must be booked months in advance through the Uganda Wildlife Authority — permits sell out fast and cannot be arranged at the park gate.

Yes — purchase your plan before you leave, then install the eSIM while you still have a Wi-Fi connection. Once installed, your plan activates automatically when your phone connects to a supported network at your destination.

Most iPhones from XS onwards and many modern Android devices (Samsung Galaxy S21+, Google Pixel 3+, and others) support eSIM. You can check your specific model on our eSIM Compatibility page.

Yes. Most dual-SIM devices let you use your home SIM for calls and texts while using your Vyroam eSIM for data. This way you keep your number and avoid roaming charges at the same time.
