How to check in 30 seconds
Follow the steps for your phone type:
iPhone
Go to Settings → General → About. Scroll down and look for 'Digital SIM' or 'EID'. If you see a long number starting with 89, your phone has eSIM.
Samsung Galaxy
Go to Settings → Connections → SIM Manager → Add mobile plan. If the option appears, your device supports eSIM.
Google Pixel
Go to Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs → Add SIM. If you see an option to download a SIM, eSIM is supported.
Other Android
Go to Settings → About phone → SIM status. Look for EID (Embedded Identity Document). If it's listed, you have eSIM.
Fastest check
On any smartphone, search 'EID' in your Settings app. If a result appears showing a long number, your phone supports eSIM.
Compatible iPhones
All iPhones from XS onwards support eSIM. This includes:
- iPhone XS, XS Max, XR (2018)
- iPhone 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro Max (2019)
- iPhone SE (2nd & 3rd gen, 2020/2022)
- iPhone 12 mini/12/12 Pro/12 Pro Max (2020)

US iPhone note
iPhones sold in the United States from iPhone 14 onwards have no physical SIM tray at all. They are eSIM-only. International versions still have a physical tray.

Samsung has supported eSIM across its Galaxy S, Z Fold, and Z Flip ranges since 2019. Key compatible devices:
